In less than 24 hours I will be in a school bus full of teenagers for a 6 hour trip from Sudbury to Waterloo to spend the weekend there, attend a youth event, and get little or no sleep. Now WHY would I do this? - There are several reasons. First of all - I LOVE TEENS - I know it's hard to believe...but i really like them and I have a passion for seeing them make great choices, first and foremost to follow Jesus and live HIS way. It's exciting for me to go on these trips with the kids, because I get to witness lives changed and transformed; I get to see so many "God-moments" in one weekend.
Overflow is a youth convention that takes place once a year in Waterloo - for teens across the province. It's got everything: passionate worship, teen-focused Biblical teaching, motivation stories, concerts, sports and activities, a BMX show, and more. It's a weekend of intense emotion for everyone.
Last year was the first time i'd been to this specific event. This year we've doubled the size group we're taking (which is amazing) and are expecting God to once again show up, and do some amazing things in our kids lives.
Please pray with me, as we look forward to seeing God move and connect with our young people - the next generation. And pray with me that whatever happens this weekend that it would be life-impacting and long-lasting.
So although moments of this weekend will be crazy and chaotic, though I will get little sleep - it is more than worth it to give teens this opportunity to be exposed to God in a big way.
